Małgorzata Kulesa-Mrowiecka – Professor at the Jagiellonian University, researcher, physiotherapist; Assistant Professor at the Department of Rehabilitation in Internal Diseases, Institute of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Health Sciences, Jagiellonian University Medical College in Kraków.
Her postdoctoral habilitation thesis was entitled: “The role of stomatognathic physiotherapy in the rehabilitation of masticatory system motor dysfunctions in children and adults.”
She obtained her PhD at the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Medical College. She completed her master’s degree in Physiotherapy at the same university. Since 2003 she has been working as a research and teaching faculty member at the Faculty of Health Sciences, and since 2008 also at the Faculty of Medicine, JU MC, in the Medical School for Foreigners.
She is a lecturer at numerous national and international conferences, and the author of many publications and presentations concerning physiotherapy of the masticatory system. She is the author of the book “Diagnosis and Treatment of Cranio-Mandibular Dysfunction in a Holistic Approach” and a co-author of chapters in the books: “Selected Issues in Head and Neck Oncology: A Textbook for Physicians and Students” (2017) and “Orthognathic Surgery” (2018). She is the founder and organizer of the CRANIA Conference “Consensus in the Diagnosis and Physiotherapy of Temporomandibular Joints.” She has developed her own method of diagnosing and treating cranio-mandibular dysfunctions.
In 2016 she was awarded the Bronze Medal for Long Service by the Ministry of National Education, and in 2017 the Medal of the National Education Commission. She also served as Deputy Director of the Institute of Physiotherapy, JU MC.
She has conducted dozens of postgraduate theoretical and practical courses for dentists, ENT specialists, and physiotherapists in the field of physiotherapy for cranio-mandibular dysfunctions. For 17 years she has run her private practice Physiotherapy and Stomatognathic Clinic in Kraków.
She is a founding member of the Polish Society for Craniofacial Treatment and collaborates with gnathological teams throughout Poland. Since 2012 she has supervised the Student Scientific Circle of Physiotherapy and Neurorehabilitation at the Institute of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Health Sciences, JU MC, in Kraków.
She has completed international internships in Barcelona (Spain), Granada (Spain), Berlin (Germany), New York (USA), and Milan (Italy).
